Emergency Care Assistance for Elderly Parents

Emergency care assistance is a 24/7 response service for elderly parents living at home in India. One call reaches a desk that already knows their conditions, medicines, hospital preference and insurance. A Care Manager reaches them, coordinates the ambulance and the hospital admission, and keeps you informed at every step. Available in Mumbai, Pune and Navi Mumbai.

    Why emergency support matters

Most elder care emergencies do not announce themselves. A fall in the bathroom at night, sudden breathlessness, a blood pressure reading that will not settle. What decides the outcome is rarely the hospital. It is the first hour, and who is in it.

If you live abroad or in another city, that first hour is the hardest part. Your parent may not be able to explain what is wrong. A neighbour may not know their medical history. Nobody at the hospital desk knows which insurance policy to produce. Calls go back and forth while time passes.

Emergency care assistance exists to take that hour off your parents and off you. One number, answered at any hour, by people who already hold their medical file and can be at the house or the hospital in person.

    What this changes at home

Your parents have one number to call, at any hourThe person answering already knows their conditions and medicinesSomeone reaches them and goes to the hospital with themAdmission, deposit and insurance paperwork are handled on the spotYou are told what happened, by us, the same day

    What is included

Five parts, one Care Manager who owns all of them. Your parents call one number and so do you.

    01

    The 24/7 helpline and SOS

One number that is answered day or night, and a way for your parent to raise an alert without having to explain anything.

    02

Daily contact so trouble is caught early

Most emergencies give a warning first. Regular contact is how that warning gets noticed.

The cheapest emergency to manage is the one that never happens. We look at the house, not just the person.

    05

Bills, insurance and the follow through

An emergency does not end at admission. The bills, the claim and the discharge plan all follow.

What happens in the first hour

This is the sequence every emergency follows, from the moment the call lands to the week after discharge.

    1

    The call comes in

From your parent, from a neighbour, from the SOS alert or from you. The desk is staffed 24/7, so there is no voicemail and no waiting for office hours.

    2

    Within 15 minutes

The desk acts. The Care Manager is dispatched, an ambulance is arranged if the situation needs one, and you are informed in the same window rather than afterwards.

    3

    At the house

The Care Manager reaches your parents carrying their medical file, current medicine list and insurance details, so nothing has to be remembered under stress.

    4

    At the hospital

Admission formalities, the deposit, consent paperwork and the insurance desk are handled in person. Your parent is not left managing forms in a corridor.

    5

    The same day

You get one clear update from us: what happened, what the doctor said, what was decided and what it is likely to cost.

    6

    After discharge

Medicines, the follow up appointment, nursing at home if it is needed and the insurance claim are all arranged before you have to chase them.

Emergency care assistance vs an ambulance number

An ambulance number moves your parent to a hospital. It does not put anyone beside them, and it does not tell you what is happening. That gap is what this service fills.

To be clear about what this is: in a life threatening emergency an ambulance and a hospital are still the first call. Pranyaas makes sure someone who holds their medical file is with them, that the admission is handled and that you are not finding out second hand.

    Who responds to the call

In an emergency you are trusting strangers with your parents while you are a flight away. You should know exactly who they are.

    Your Care Manager

A direct Pranyaas employee, never outsourced to an agency. Background verified, medically assessed, character checked and matched so they speak your parents’ language. The same person your parents already know from their regular visits.

    Meet the team

    The 24/7 desk

Emergency calls are taken by our own desk rather than a call centre, with your parents’ health profile, medicine list, hospital preference and insurance details on screen as the call is answered.

    Hospital and care partners

Admissions and nursing are supported through our partners, including Ayushya Healthcare, Apex Multispeciality Hospitals, KLS Memorial Hospital and MedsRx, with your parents’ own preferred hospital kept on record first.

    The people behind it

Pranyaas is led by co founders Smita Jadhav, who has over 12 years in the healthcare sector, and Shweta Jadhav. The company has over 10 years in elder care and has supported more than 3,000 families.

    How it works

Your Care Manager is assigned and the first home visit happens within 48 hours of subscribing. Setup can be done entirely remotely.

    01

    We build their emergency profile

Conditions, medicines, allergies, current doctors, preferred hospital, insurance policies and emergency contacts are documented, so none of it has to be reconstructed in a hurry.

    02

We set the house up for it

The SOS alert is set up on their phone, emergency numbers and a one page medical summary are placed where they can be seen, and neighbour and building contacts are recorded.

    03

We respond and keep you informed

From the moment a call lands, the desk acts within 15 minutes, a Care Manager reaches them, and you get one clear update rather than a series of worried phone calls.

    Why choose Pranyaas

Plenty of services will give you a helpline number. Very few will put a named person beside your parents within the hour and then tell you the whole story.

One number, answered at any hour

The emergency desk is staffed 24/7. There is no voicemail, no office hours and no being told to call back in the morning.

    We act within 15 minutes

An SOS call is acted on within 15 minutes at any hour, with the Care Manager dispatched and the family informed in the same window.

    Someone is physically with them

Most services will send an ambulance. We send a person who stays, carries the file, speaks to the doctor and signs the papers.

    The desk already knows them

Their conditions, medicines, allergies and hospital preference are on screen when the call lands. Nothing depends on a frightened parent remembering it.

Insurance handled in the same chain

The cashless desk, pre authorisation and the claim are handled by the same team, so the medical and the money side do not get separated.

    You hear it from us

You get one clear account of what happened the same day, instead of piecing it together from short calls with a parent who does not want to worry you.

    Frequently asked questions

Ask us anything before you subscribe. The consultation is free and takes about ten minutes.

    Call the 24/7 desk
What is emergency care assistance for elderly parents?

It is a 24/7 response service for seniors living at home. One number reaches a staffed desk that already holds their conditions, medicines, allergies, preferred hospital and insurance details. When a call comes in, a Care Manager is dispatched to the house, an ambulance is arranged if it is needed, the hospital admission and paperwork are handled in person, and the family is given one clear update rather than fragments.

My parent needs help right now. What should I do?

If it is life threatening, call an ambulance or your local emergency number first, then call us on +91 74001 80051 so our team can reach them and take over the coordination. Pranyaas is not a replacement for an ambulance service. What we add is a person who holds their medical file, handles the admission and keeps you informed.

    How quickly do you respond?

An SOS call is acted on within 15 minutes at any hour of the day or night. In that window the Care Manager is dispatched, an ambulance is arranged if the situation needs one, and you are informed. You are not told after the fact.

Will someone actually go to the hospital with my parents?

Yes. That is the core of this service. A Care Manager reaches them carrying their medical file, current medicine list and insurance details, completes the admission formalities, pays the deposit where needed and stays through the process. Your parent does not stand at a hospital desk alone.

What happens if my parents cannot reach the phone?

That is why the mobile SOS alert exists, so help can be called with one action rather than a conversation. Care Managers also stay in regular contact, and an unanswered call is treated as a reason to check on them rather than something to try again later. Neighbour, building and local doctor contacts are kept on file in advance for exactly this situation.

Do you decide which hospital they go to?

Your parents’ own preferred hospital is recorded first and is what we use wherever the situation allows. Where that is not possible, or where a specific specialism is needed, we use our partner hospitals. The choice is documented with you before anything happens, not taken in the moment.

Is the hospital bill covered by the monthly plan?

No. The plan fee covers your Care Manager, the 24/7 desk and all the coordination. Ambulances, hospital bills, doctors, tests and medicines are billed at actual cost with receipts shared with you. Where there is an insurance policy we handle the cashless desk, the pre authorisation and the claim, and emergency fund assistance can cover the immediate payment.

Can I set this up from abroad, and which cities do you cover?

Setup can be done entirely remotely, which is how most families start, and takes about ten minutes. Our teams work on the ground in Mumbai, Pune and Navi Mumbai. A Care Manager is assigned and the first home visit happens within 48 hours of subscribing.
