Specialized Assistance for Elderly Parents

Specialized assistance is care built around one specific situation rather than a standard plan. It covers recovery after a hospital stay, support for a parent with reduced mobility, a parent living alone, official and legal paperwork, and coordination between several doctors at once. A Care Manager assesses the need in person and adjusts the support as it changes. Available in Mumbai, Pune and Navi Mumbai.

    Why this matters

Most elder care is sold as a package, and for most families a package is the right answer. Then something happens that the package was not built for. A hip replacement and six weeks of recovery. A parent who can no longer manage the stairs. A parent living alone after losing a partner. Four specialists who have each prescribed something without seeing the others’ notes.

These are the situations where families start improvising, because nothing on offer fits. And improvising from another country, over phone calls, is where things get missed.

Specialized assistance exists for exactly that. A Care Manager comes and sees the actual situation, writes support around it, and changes it as the situation changes. It is skilled, personal care delivered in your parents’ own home, with their comfort, safety and independence as the point of it.

    What is included

These are the five situations families most often need this for. If yours is not here, describe it on the first call and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

    01

    Recovery after a hospital stay

The weeks after discharge decide whether a parent recovers at home or goes back in.

The discharge plan read, understood and actually followedNursing and physiotherapy at home arranged for the recovery periodMedicines reconciled, because what they take usually changes at dischargeFollow up appointments booked and attended with them
    02

    Reduced mobility

When moving around the house becomes the problem, the house has to change too.

Certified physiotherapists for joint care, stroke recovery and mobilityWalkers, rails and other aids sourced, delivered and fittedThe home looked at for stairs, bathrooms, lighting and loose flooringTransport with support, so appointments do not get skipped
    03

    A parent living alone

Often after losing a partner, which is a medical situation and an emotional one at the same time.

Daily contact, with an unanswered call treated as a reason to checkA home safety walkthrough and the SOS alert set upNeighbour, building and local doctor contacts recorded in advanceCompany and routine rebuilt, not just safety added
    04

    Official and legal paperwork

The documents that are hard to chase from another country and easy to put off at home.

Important documents organised and kept in one placeHelp gathering, completing and submitting official paperworkVisits made to offices on their behalfThe right professional found when the matter actually needs one
    05

    Several doctors, one plan

The most common hidden risk in elder care, and almost always invisible to the family.

Appointments and reports coordinated across specialistsOne medical record every doctor can be shownOverlapping or conflicting prescriptions raised with the treating doctorOne person who holds the whole picture, which no single specialist does

A standard care plan vs specialized assistance

The difference is not how much care there is. It is what the care is designed around.

     SPECIALIZED ASSISTANCEA STANDARD CARE PLAN
Built aroundOne specific condition or situationA general set of needs
How it is plannedAn assessment visit first, then a plan written for itA plan chosen from published options
How often it changesReviewed and adjusted as the situation movesSteady month to month
    Typical lengthSometimes weeks, sometimes permanentOngoing
Best forRecovery, a sudden change, or a complicated caseSteady day to day care at home

This is support at home, not a substitute for a hospital. Where a condition genuinely needs round the clock clinical supervision, we will tell you that on the first call rather than take on something that belongs in a hospital.

Who designs and delivers the care

Because every case here is different, the people assessing it matter as much as the people delivering it.

    Who assesses it

The plan is built by our care services team, headed by Sunita Sasane, who holds an MBA from ITM Mumbai, with service management by Vidhi Parithe, who has over 8 years in the field. The assessment happens in your parents’ home, not over a form.

    Meet the team

    Your Care Manager

A direct Pranyaas employee, never outsourced to an agency. Background verified, medically assessed and character checked, and matched so they speak your parents’ language.

    Nurses and therapists

Pre screened nurses, attendants and certified physiotherapists are arranged through our healthcare partner Ayushya Healthcare, with the Care Manager supervising the placement and the quality of care.

    Medical support

    Doctors and hospitals

Your parents’ own doctors wherever possible, plus consultants through our hospital partners including Apex Multispeciality Hospitals and KLS Memorial Hospital.

    How it works

The first step is an assessment visit, not a subscription. A Care Manager is assigned with the first home visit within 48 hours of subscribing.

    01

We come and see the situation

A Care Manager visits, meets your parents, looks at the house, reads the discharge summary or the prescriptions, and talks to whoever is treating them. Nothing is scoped from a phone call alone.

    02

We write the support around it

You get a plan for this specific situation: who comes, how often, what they do, what it costs and what we think the realistic outcome is. If part of it needs a hospital rather than home care, that is said plainly.

    03

    We adjust as it changes

Recovery speeds up, mobility improves or declines, a prescription changes. The plan is reviewed rather than left running, and you are told when something needs to change.

    Why choose Pranyaas

A specialised situation is exactly where a standard package stops working. The value here is in the assessment and the honesty, not in the size of the plan.

    Built around one need

The support is designed around your parents’ actual situation rather than selected from a list of packages that nearly fit.

    Assessed in person

Someone comes and looks. The house, the medicines, the discharge summary and your parents themselves, before anything is proposed or priced.

    Adjusted as it moves

A recovery plan that is right in week one is wrong by week five. The plan is reviewed rather than left to run on.

    One record across specialists

Where several doctors are involved, one team holds the whole medical picture and raises conflicts with the treating doctor instead of letting them pass.

    Honest about the limits

Where a situation needs a hospital, a specialist facility or round the clock clinical supervision, we say so rather than take it on.

    It escalates properly

Specialized assistance sits alongside emergency care and medical support, so if the situation turns urgent the same team already holds everything.

    Which plans include this

Specialized assistance is scoped to your parents’ situation after an assessment visit, so it is quoted for that situation rather than fixed in advance. It is available on the Standard plan at Rs 7,999 a month and the Premium plan at Rs 14,999 a month, which carry the visit frequency this kind of care needs. Every plan is billed monthly with no lock in.

    Call us 24/7
What is specialized assistance for elderly parents?

It is care designed around one specific situation rather than a standard monthly package. The situations families most often need it for are recovery after a hospital stay, a drop in mobility, a parent living alone for the first time, official and legal paperwork that has piled up, and coordination when several doctors are treating the same person. A Care Manager assesses it in person, writes a plan for that situation, and changes the plan as the situation changes.

How is this different from medical and nursing support?

Medical and nursing support is the ongoing management of your parents’ health at home: doctors, nurses, medicines, diagnostics and records, month after month. Specialized assistance is for a specific situation that a standard plan was not built for, and it is often temporary. Many families use both, with the specialized plan sitting on top for as long as the situation lasts.

My parent is being discharged next week. Can you help in time?

Yes, and this is one of the most common reasons families call. A Care Manager is assigned with the first home visit within 48 hours of subscribing. The discharge summary is read, the changed medicines are reconciled, nursing or physiotherapy is arranged for the recovery period and the follow up appointment is booked and attended. The weeks after discharge are where most avoidable readmissions come from.

Do you provide dementia or memory care?

We support a parent living at home with a diagnosed condition, working alongside the doctor who is treating them, with trained attendants, a consistent Care Manager and a safer home environment. What we do not do is present ourselves as a specialist memory facility. Where a condition needs round the clock clinical supervision, we will tell you that honestly rather than take it on.

Can you help with legal documents?

We organise important documents, help gather, complete and submit official paperwork, and make visits to offices on your parents’ behalf. We do not give legal advice. Where a matter genuinely needs a lawyer or another professional, we help you find the right one and then handle the running around.

My parents see four different doctors. Can you join that up?

That is one of the main reasons this service exists. Appointments and reports are coordinated across specialists, one medical record is maintained that every doctor can be shown, and overlapping or conflicting prescriptions are raised with the treating doctor. No individual specialist sees the whole picture, so somebody has to hold it.

    How is specialized assistance priced?

It is scoped after the assessment visit, because these situations genuinely differ. It is available on the Standard and Premium plans, which carry the visit frequency this kind of care needs. The plan fee covers your Care Manager, the assessment and the coordination, while nurses, physiotherapists, doctors, medicines, equipment and transport are billed at actual cost with receipts.

Which cities is this available in, and can I set it up from abroad?

Our teams work on the ground in Mumbai, Pune and Navi Mumbai, which is where the assessment and the care happen in person. Setup takes about ten minutes and can be done entirely remotely, which is how most families living abroad start.

Tell us what your parents are dealing with

Describe the situation and we will tell you whether this is something we can help with, and honestly if it is not. No lock in, and a Care Manager is assigned with the first home visit within 48 hours.
